Top Centre Laundry is one of Tasmania's leading commercial laundry providers, servicing healthcare, aged care, accommodation, hospitality, and commercial customers across the state.

Operating from our modern Devonport facility, we process and distribute large volumes of linen every day while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer service. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated Trades Assistant to join our Maintenance Team.

Our Maintenance Team is responsible for ensuring all plant, equipment, and facilities are maintained to the highest standards to support safe and efficient operations.

This role is predominantly Monday to Friday, with occasional after-hours or weekend work as required.

Duties

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, key responsibilities include:

• Assisting tradespeople with the maintenance and servicing of plant and equipment.

• Supporting preventative maintenance programs across the facility.

• Assisting with fault finding, repairs, and equipment breakdowns.

• Maintaining workshop and maintenance areas in a clean and organised manner.

• Assisting with inventory and spare parts management.





• Completing maintenance documentation and records as required.

• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

• Following all company safety policies and procedures.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Trades Assistant, Maintenance Assistant, Labourer, or in a hands-on mechanical environment.

• Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.

• Basic experience using hand and power tools.

• Strong commitment to workplace safety.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

• A positive attitude and strong work ethic.

• Current driver's licence.

• Forklift licence is advantageous but not essential.
