As a New Graduate Occupational Therapist, you will provide occupational therapy to clients under appropriate clinical supervision while progressively developing your independence, clinical reasoning and caseload management skills. You will be supported to learn, reflect and develop without the expectation that you already know everything. Recent Graduates are still shaping their clinical reasoning style, understanding their strengths, and building competence in assessment, planning, and intervention.
Key responsibilities
- Provide neurodiversity-affirming, person-centred occupational therapy to clients aged 3-45 years of age
- Complete assessments and interventions appropriate to your level of competence and experience
- Develop and implement therapy plans with weekly supervision (for first 3 months and then fortnightly ongoing)
- Build skills in clinical reasoning, assessment, intervention and outcome measurement
- Develop clear,
respectful and timely clinical documentation and reports with the use of ai
- Communicate professionally with clients, families, schools and other professionals
- Participate in regular clinical supervision 1:1, monthly team PD, mentoring and reflective practice
- Develop effective caseload, diary and time-management skills
- Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, consent and client safety
- Participate in professional development and actively work towards identified SMART goals
About you
- 0–2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist
- AHPRA registered as an Occupational Therapist
- Drivers license and car
- Willingness to learn and curiosity
- Commitment to reflective practice and ethical decision-making
