About the Company
Central Petroleum Limited (ASX:CTP) is a well-established and emerging Australian ASX-listed oil and gas producer. We have a diverse portfolio of producing and prospective gas tenements across the Northern Territory (NT). We operate the largest onshore oil and gas fields in the NT, producing from proven reserves in the Amadeus Basin (west of Alice Springs), and have exploration opportunities in two of Australia’s proven energy provinces – Victoria’s Otway Basin and the Cooper Basin in South Australia. As an Australian oil and gas company listed on the ASX, we provide energy security and reliable gas supply to power stations, mine sites, energy wholesalers and retailers in central and northern Australia.
About the role
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Operator Maintainer is responsible for the safe, effective and efficient operation and first-line maintenance of plant and equipment across Central's Palm Valley gas field operations. This includes wells, pipelines, process facilities and associated machinery, as well as monitoring and operating equipment through computerised control and SCADA systems.
The role plays an important part in maintaining reliable field operations, ensuring production targets are met and the nominated quantity of gas is delivered on time. Key responsibilities include operating and maintaining production facilities, in particular the provision of specialist on-site instrumentation and electrical services to maintain the process instrumentation, electrical systems and control systems associated with the gas facilities.
Safety, environmental responsibility and respect for cultural heritage are central to this role. The successful candidate will actively contribute to Central's health, safety and environmental standards, participate in emergency response activities and training, and work collaboratively with site personnel to identify opportunities to improve operational performance, safety and efficiency.

This opportunity would appeal to someone who is proactive, safety-conscious and keen to contribute to continuous improvement across field operations. You will take an active interest in developing your technical skills, improving plant performance and supporting Central's commitment to safe, efficient and environmentally responsible operations. The role also offers an opportunity to further develop your capabilities across gas field plant and equipment, process operations and associated control systems.
