The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Trainer Specialised Operator to join our growing team at the Wilton and Fairhill mining operations.

This role requires a highly skilled operator, competent across various machinery, ideally with experience in thin-seam open-cut mining. The successful candidate will thrive in a small, high-performing team environment and bring a strong background in mining operations, along with proven experience in delivering training. You will value working in a supportive and friendly workplace while contributing to operational excellence.

Duties will include:

- Deliver and assess training for production operations in accordance with site standards and legislative requirements.

- Conduct competency-based training and assessments to ensure safe and effective operational performance.

- Carry out Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments as required.

- Support the development and review of training materials and resources to ensure they remain current and relevant.

- Operate a range of mining machinery, including excavators,



dump trucks, dozers and graders, to support daily production requirements.

- Provide practical, on-the-job training, coaching and guidance to operators across various types of mining equipment.

- Promote safe operating practices and ensure compliance with site procedures and operational standards.

- Apply knowledge and experience in thin-seam open-cut mining operations (highly regarded).

About You:

- Cert IV in Training and Assessment

- Mining Supervisor – G1, G8 and G9

- You will hold current QLD coal operational competencies, along with:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in coal mining operational roles, with demonstrated competency in operating a variety of mining machinery and equipment.

- Relevant industry experience and qualifications in mining and workplace health and safety training

- Current Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical;

- Valid driver's license

- Must be able to pass pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening;

- Strong communication skills;

- Manage your time well, stay organised, and adapt easily to changing training needs

This role is offered residentially, based in Emerald, on a 7/7 dayshift only roster. Accommodation may be provided for the right applicant.
