We are seeking reliable, safety-focused HR Truck Drivers to join medical waste collection operations across the Greater Brisbane region, with multiple positions available across various service areas.

These opportunities offer an initial three-month assignment, with the potential to transition to permanent employment for the right candidates.

Important: This is a physically demanding, hands-on role — not simply a driving position. You must be physically fit and comfortable regularly lifting, moving and handling medical waste bins weighing up to 30kg throughout your shift.

Position Details

- Location: Greater Brisbane region, with opportunities across multiple service areas

- Tenure: Initial 3-month assignment, with the opportunity to transition to permanent employment

- Days: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and public holiday work

- Start Times: Variable weekday starts between 12:00am and 5:00am

- Shift Length: Typically 8–12 hours

- Pay Rate: $39.89 per hour + applicable penalties, overtime and allowances under the Waste Management Award

- Licence: Unrestricted HR licence (automatic transmission licence accepted)

About the Role

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and transportation of medical waste from healthcare facilities and other customer sites.

Duties include:

- Driving an HR waste collection truck safely between customer locations

- Collecting, loading, unloading and handling medical waste bins

- Regularly lifting and moving bins weighing up to 30kg

- Following strict safety, hygiene and infection-control procedures





- Completing required paperwork and collection records

- Providing professional and respectful customer service

- Maintaining a clean, secure vehicle and work environment

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A current, unrestricted HR driver's licence

- A safe driving history and a strong commitment to workplace safety

- The physical fitness required for repetitive lifting and manual handling throughout the day

- The ability to work independently and manage a demanding workload

- Good communication and customer service skills

- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic

- The flexibility to work variable early starts and occasional weekends or public holidays

Previous medical waste experience is an advantage, but a strong safety attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
