Bring your audit experience to a team where your contribution will be seen

The opportunity

If you have built a solid foundation in external audit and are ready for more ownership, client contact and career visibility, this could be the right next move.

Accru Melbourne is looking for a Senior Auditor with at least three years’ experience to join our collaborative and close-knit Audit team. You will take responsibility for medium to large audit engagements, work directly with clients and senior leaders, and help guide junior team members through their own development.

This is an opportunity to move beyond being one person in a large delivery structure. You will be trusted to run engagements, contribute ideas, build client relationships and play an active role in shaping how the team works.

What you’ll do

In this role, you will:

- Run medium to large audit engagements from planning through to completion
- Drive interim and final audit work, keeping engagements progressing against agreed timeframes
- Prepare and review financial statements in line with relevant legislative and professional standards
- Act as a regular contact for clients and participate in client and board meetings, building trust and providing support
- Identify and discuss audit issues with clients and senior team members
- Review the work of Graduate and Intermediate Auditors, providing timely and practical feedback
- Support the training, delegation and development of junior team members
- Monitor engagement progress, budgets and billing requirements
- Present completed files to Managers, Directors and Partners for review
- Look for opportunities to add value for clients beyond the immediate audit engagement

Why join Accru Melbourne?

Our Audit team combines the career opportunities and quality of work you would expect from a larger firm with the connection,

visibility and access that can be harder to find in a larger environment.

You can expect:

- Earlier ownership: Take responsibility for meaningful engagements and client conversations rather than waiting for the next title before being given the opportunity
- Visible progression: Work closely with Managers, Directors and Partners who can see your contribution and support your development
- Real client exposure: Spend time with clients and develop a practical understanding of their organisations, operations and goals
- A genuinely connected team: Join colleagues who collaborate constantly, share responsibility and look out for one another during busy periods
- A voice in the team: Contribute to meetings, divisional projects, business activities and thought leadership, including the opportunity to develop content for sharing on our social media platforms
- A culture with personality: Audit meetings are engaging, responsibility for chairing is shared across the team, and a positive sense of humour is part of how the team stays connected
- Time together and time to recharge: Enjoy whole-of-firm gatherings, dedicated Audit team events and an end-of-year celebration before the office closes for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year period

Life at Accru Melbourne

We believe strong results come from capable people who feel trusted, connected and able to contribute.

At Accru Melbourne, you can build close relationships with clients,

work alongside accessible senior leaders and take on responsibilities that may take longer to reach in a larger firm. You will be encouraged to contribute ideas, develop your professional profile and play an active part in the life of the team and the wider business.

Our Audit team is professional and client-focused, but it does not take itself too seriously. People share responsibility, collaborate closely and bring humour into the working day. Whether you are leading an engagement, chairing a team meeting, supporting a colleague or contributing a thought leadership idea, there is room to be seen and heard.

About you

You will bring:

- At least three years’ external audit experience
- An undergraduate degree in accounting, commerce or a related discipline
- CA or CPA qualification, or progress towards completion
- Sound knowledge of auditing and accounting standards
- Experience contributing to or running audit engagements
- The confidence to communicate directly with clients
- The ability to review work and support developing team members
- Strong planning, organisation and analytical skills
- A collaborative approach, personal accountability and a genuine interest in helping the wider team succeed
- Caseware knowledge desirable

What success looks like

You will be someone clients trust, junior team members learn from and colleagues enjoy working alongside. You will deliver quality work, take ownership of your engagements and contribute positively to both the Audit division and the broader Accru Melbourne community.

Ready to make your next move?

If you are ready to step into greater responsibility without becoming another number in a large firm, we would like to hear from you.

Apply now and build a career where your work, ideas and contribution are visible.
