About the role

Australian Fishing Enterprises are seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our team on a full time basis. This is a hands-on, land-based position, which will report to the Farm Manager and will be responsible for the maintenance requirements of our fishing and farming fleet, ensuring all maintenance and repairs are conducted safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

- Responsible for the day to day management of our maintenance team and operations

- Liaise with vessel crew as to maintenance requirements and spare parts requisitions

- First point of contact for breakdowns and emergencies

- Ensure all staff under your supervision adhere to Safework Practices at all times

- Liaise with relevant Management in regard to long term maintenance plans

- Control and implement policies and mechanical work practices

- Maintain the vessels and equipment in a mechanically sound condition

- Maintain & safeguard company assets including all equipment, supplies, boats and facilities

- Keep management informed on all decisions and activities

- Prioritise activities and decisions on a safety and operations first basis

- Undertake budgeting requirements & provide reporting to the Farm Manager

- Effective delegation, monitoring and re direction as required





- Promote "working smart" that is accomplishing each activity in the most cost efficient/time efficient manner

- Focus on preventative maintenance procedures with staff

- Managing to maximize labour efficiency

About you

- Trade Qualified (Mechanical/Engineering)

- Proven experience in supervising/management within a similar field

- Excellent communication, problem solving skills & a high attention to detail

- Compliance with Safety standards

- Drivers Licence/First Aid Certification/Forklift licence
