We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Casual Truck Driver / Mechanical Handyman to support our marine and workshop operations. This role combines medium rigid truck driving with general mechanical maintenance across plant, equipment, and commercial vessels.
This is a varied, practical role suited to someone who enjoys working both on the road and in a workshop/marine environment. Adaptable days and hours can be negotiated to suit your availability and our operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a medium rigid (MR) truck for transport of equipment and materials
- Assist with maintenance and repairs on plant, machinery, and vessels
- Conduct routine inspections and basic fault-finding
- Support workshop and yard operations as required
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A current Medium Rigid (MR) Driver's Licence
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude or hands-on maintenance experience
- Professional mechanical or maintenance experience in a commercial or industrial setting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Flexibility to work casual hours as required
- Australian permanent residency or citizenship
Desirable (not essential):
- Experience working in marine, construction, or heavy industry environments
- Basic welding, fitting, or diesel mechanical skills
