Lead Civil Engineer - Land Development
At Aurecon, we are optimistic about the future. We are thinkers, solvers, and collaborators who work with our clients to deliver the infrastructure and assets that strengthen communities and create a sustainable future.
What you'll do
As a Lead Civil Engineer in our Land Development team based in Melbourne, you'll take a leading role in the delivery of civil infrastructure and land development projects while helping shape the continued growth of our capability.
You'll have the opportunity to work across a broad portfolio rather than being tied to one project, with exposure to major water and infrastructure projects and the potential to contribute to Defence-related work.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer who enjoys remaining technically connected to projects but is also ready to take greater ownership of clients, people and project outcomes.
You'll:
- Lead and deliver land development and civil infrastructure design projects.
- Manage the preparation of civil engineering designs, drawings and documentation.
- Provide technical leadership across industrial subdivisions, roads, drainage, earthworks, water and sewer infrastructure, municipal works and civil site developments.
- Work closely with Victorian councils, authorities, clients and other project stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for future work.
- Lead and coordinate small project teams and multidisciplinary inputs.
- Mentor and develop engineers within the team.
- Ensure designs meet relevant Australian and Victorian standards, council requirements and authority approvals.
- Contribute to the continued growth of Aurecon's Land Development capability.
What you'll bring
We're looking for someone who combines solid civil engineering capability with the confidence to work directly with clients and lead others.
You'll ideally bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering.
- Strong experience delivering land development and civil infrastructure projects in Victoria.
- Local experience working with Victorian councils, authorities and approval processes.
- Design experience across roads, drainage, earthworks, water and sewer services, subdivisions, pavements and civil site works.
- Demonstrated experience liaising directly with clients and building strong relationships.
- Experience leading projects and coordinating small teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of civil design software such as 12D and AutoCAD would be advantageous.
- Part A & B Water Supply and Sewer Design Assurance Scheme Accreditation Key Personnel (MRWA) would be advantageous.
- Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain an Australian Government security clearance if required.
We're particularly interested in someone who wants to continue growing their career, taking on greater responsibility for clients, people and project delivery, with the potential to progress into broader leadership opportunities over time.
