About the role

The Financial Controller is responsible for the day-to-day financial management, financial control, reporting, compliance, and operational finance functions of the organisation. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information, supports strategic decision-making, maintains financial compliance, and contributes to the ongoing financial sustainability of Origin Support Services. Working closely with the Director and operational leadership team, the Financial Controller will oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll, reconciliations, budgeting, financial reporting, NDIS billing, and financial process improvements.

Key responsibilities

- Support the development and implementation of the organisation's financial plans and objectives.

- Prepare monthly management reports, financial statements, forecasts, and cash flow projections.

- Monitor organisational financial performance and identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.

- Assist with the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets.

- Process and authorise supplier invoices in a timely and accurate manner.

- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.

- Oversee NDIS invoicing, claiming, payment processing, and funding reconciliations.

- Oversee payroll processing for 170+ employees.





- Maintain and optimise Xero and related financial systems.

- Develop and improve financial processes, controls, and workflows.

About you

- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Financial Controller, Senior Finance Officer, Finance Manager, or similar role.

- CPA qualification

- Demonstrated experience in accounts payable, reconciliations, payroll, and financial reporting.

- Strong understanding of budgeting, cash flow management, and financial controls.

- Experience using Xero accounting software.

- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Sound knowledge of relevant Australian financial, taxation, payroll, and employment legislation.

- Experience within the NDIS sector is highly desirable.
