About the role

Thomas Creative has been part of the Illawarra for 71 years, and we’re one of the region’s leading sign shops. From shopfronts and pylons to illuminated signs and window graphics, our work is seen on businesses all over the Illawarra and beyond. We’re looking for a hands-on Sign Manufacturer & Installer to join our team in our workshop in Unanderra .

This is a varied, full-time role. You’ll split your time between our workshop, building and finishing signs, and out on site, installing them. No two days are the same.

Enjoy working on a range of high-profile local signage and Australia wide set building projects, and see your work at events, exhibitions, on the theatre stage, and on TV

What you’ll be doing

- Fabricating signs in the workshop, including cutting, assembling, finishing and quality-checking

- Working with a range of materials such as aluminium, ACM, acrylic, timber, vinyl and light boxes

- Preparing and applying vinyl graphics, decals and window signage

- Installing signage on-site, including wall, pylon, shopfront, fascia and freestanding signs

- Measuring and assessing sites and making sure installations are safe and accurate

- Loading and unloading vehicles and maintaining tools and equipment

- Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe

- Representing Thomas Creative professionally with clients on site

About you

- Experience in sign making, fabrication,



installation or a similar trade (we’ll consider motivated applicants with robust practical skills who are keen to learn)

- Comfortable with hand and power tools, and working both independently and as part of a team

- Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship

- Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious

- Able to lift and carry materials and work at heights

- Current, full Australian driver’s licence (essential)

- Current White Card

Bonus points (not essential)

- Working at Heights ticket

- EWP (Elevated Work Platform) licence

- Forklift licence

- Experience with CAD or design software such as Adobe Illustrator

- Experience with LED signage and electrical components

- Vehicle wrap experience
