About the role

The Early Childhood Teacher provides active leadership to Educators in the development, implementation and evaluation of a child-focused education and care curriculum ensuring the curriculum is consistent with the service philosophy and according to the requirements of the National Quality Framework. The Early Childhood Teacher contributes to the management of and supports the qualified learning of staff.

Key responsibilities

- Develop and implement a high-quality education and care curriculum for all enrolled children consistent with the service philosophy, procedures, policies, National Quality Standards, Education and Care Services National Regulations and National Law, and Early Years Learning Framework/Framework for School Age Care

- Support, lead and mentor other educators within the room and ensure the embedding of the Learning Framework within the curriculum

- Make learning visible and be responsive to advice and guidance from the Educational Leader





- Ensure documentation and maintenance of curriculum on a cyclical basis and in a professional manner to a high-quality standard

- Link curriculum to the Approved Learning Framework outcomes and relevant early learning and development theories

- Provide leadership and support in documentation of children and family information

- Conduct observations of children and evaluation of observations and planning

- Implement plans and reflect on own and team's practice to guide future planning

- Contribute to documenting of children's learning and development

- Engage in critical reflection of children's learning to guide future programming

About you

- Must have completed or be willing to undertake Foundations of child safety training (geecko)

- Must have completed or be willing to undertake CHCPRT025 Identify and report children and young people at risk

- Must provide a criminal history check conducted by NSW Police or Australian Federal Police (undertaken in last 6 months)

- Must provide a working with children check and complete a prohibited employee declaration statement as per the organisation's Child Safety Policy and Code of Conduct

- Must supply 2 referees names and contact numbers, with 1 being a child-related employment reference
