Midland Tractors is the Tasmanian Dealer for John Deere Agricultural Products and Silvan Spraying & Farming Equipment. We are a family owned and operated business with branches at Longford, Latrobe, Montrose & Stanley.

We currently have an opening at our Montrose Branch for a Service Scheduler-Administrator.

About the role

To act as the central contact connecting customers, service technicians, and the workshop to ensure machinery is repaired, maintained, and serviced efficiently meeting customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

- Interpret the needs of the customer, booking in and opening of jobs, effectively allocate time slots and appropriate resources to jobs according to their skills and knowledge

- Ensure jobs are opened at commencement and maintain control until closed / invoiced

- Liaise with and advise parts department for parts demand for booked or scheduled jobs

- Update / maintain customer profiles using equipment, hours and other relevant information

- Actively manage jobs in progress by planning, scheduling or rebooking to ensure all work in progress (WIP) is kept to a minimum

- Ensure all work is monitored and progress constantly communicated to customer





- Service whiteboard maintained ensuring technicians are kept updated with job schedules

- Review technicians Productivity & Attendance Reports & travel daily – amend where required

- Manage the expectations of our customers and ensure they are always well informed

- Consistently provide a fast and efficient service to our customers

Essential Criteria:

- Previous experience in similar role ideally within a workshop environment

- Excellent time management with the ability to manage multiple priorities

- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to support and drive positive change

- Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on keeping all stakeholders informed

- Proficiency in industry-specific software for administrative tasks and workshop management systems
