The Council is seeking applications from suitably qualified and/or experienced staff to meet Council's operational plan requirements for the position of full-time Roller Operator to ensure satisfactory completion of a range of construction and maintenance activities/projects to meet Council's Operational Plan objectives and requirements.

The Council is seeking applications from suitably qualified and/or experienced staff to meet Council's operational plan requirements for the position of full-time Roller Operator to ensure satisfactory completion of a range of construction and maintenance activities/projects to meet Council's Operational Plan objectives and requirements.

Key accountabilities

Within the area of responsibility, this role is required to:

- Undertake construction roller operator activities as part of Council’s construction and maintenance programs.
- Carry out labouring duties as part of Council’s construction and maintenance programs.
- Assist with the set-up of formwork,



site preparation and remedial activities.
- Assist with traffic control, including the set up and dismantling of traffic control signage on job sites.
- Repair roads, pavements, pathways, footpaths and bikeways using tools, including hand tools; and other equipment and/or machinery, as required.
- Carry out other tasks within the employee’s skills and qualifications, as directed, to meet operational requirements.

Essential requirements

- Demonstrated extensive experience in construction roller operation, ideally gained within a civil works or local government environment.
- Demonstrated experience in a labouring role.
- Demonstrated competence and ability to safely and effectively operate a construction roller.
- Ability to assist in traffic control tasks, within skills and qualification level.
- Current NSW Class C Drivers Licence or equivalent.
- General Construction Induction/White Card.
- Working knowledge of roles and responsibilities under WHS Act 2011.

Additional position requirements

- Participate in Council's on-call roster.

Condition of employment

- Grade 5, with a Salary Range of $1140.60 to $1254.65 per week,subject to the demonstration of qualifications, skills and competencies.
- Appointment to the position will be in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award 2026 and Council’s salary structure.
- 38 hour week which includes a nine-day fortnight
- Pre Employment health assessment which meets the pre-requisites for our positions.
