Senior Software Engineer – Java / APIs / FHIRn

- Location: Brisbane or Canberra

- Contract: 12 months with possible extensions
n
- Mandatory: Australian Citizenship and able to obtain and maintain a Baseline clearance.

An exciting prospect is available for an experienced Software Engineer to contribute to a complex Government environment delivering secure, scalable API services that integrate with a broad range of internal and external systems.n
n You will work within a highly regulated technology environment supporting a sophisticated API Gateway and associated security, integration, platform, data, monitoring and DevSecOps capabilities.n
n This role will suit an experienced consulting engineer who is comfortable working across the full software development lifecycle and has strong experience with Java, REST APIs and contemporary development practices.n
n
The Rolen
What You’ll Be Doingn
n

n
- Designing and developing secure RESTful APIs using Java
n
- Building healthcare APIs aligned with HL7 FHIR
n
- Supporting integration across complex clinical and administrative systems
n
- Implementing API authentication and authorisation using OAuth 2.0
n
- Developing automated and end-to-end API testing
n
- Working with containerised applications, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps/GitOps practices
n
- Supporting logging, monitoring, privacy and auditability requirements
n
- Collaborating on integration, data mapping and transformation
n




- Supporting production-ready solutions throughout the application lifecycle
n

Mandatory Skills & Experiencen
n We are looking for demonstrated commercial experience across:n
n

n
- Java
n
- REST API development
n
- HL7 FHIR
n
- Healthcare applications or healthcare technology environments
n
- API and application testing, including REST, performance and unit testing
n
- OAuth
n
- Containerisation and an understanding of end-to-end container delivery
n
- CI/CD pipelines
n
- Privacy, auditing and logging
n
- DevOps / GitOps practices
n
- End-to-end testing
n

Eligibility & Security Requirementsn
n

- Australian Citizenship is mandatory.
n
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a higher clearance if required.
n
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a National Police Check.
n
