WM Gardens is looking for a highly experienced, hardworking and reliable Landscaper to join our growing team in Brisbane.

We are looking for someone with extensive hands-on experience across a broad range of landscaping and landscape construction works, who is confident working independently, operating equipment and completing projects to a high professional standard.

This is not an entry-level or junior landscaping position. We are specifically looking for someone who has spent considerable time working in the landscaping industry, understands the trade thoroughly and can be trusted to undertake a variety of landscaping projects with minimal supervision.

As WM Gardens continues to expand, we are taking on increasingly larger landscaping projects and current contract work, including a growing number of artificial turf installation projects.

We need someone who is versatile, experienced and capable of working across all aspects of landscaping, from site preparation and earthworks through to construction, turf installation and final finishing.

Previous site supervisor experience is not required. We are primarily looking for an experienced, hands-on landscaper who knows the trade extremely well.

The Role

You will be working alongside our team across a variety of residential and commercial landscaping projects throughout Brisbane.

Your responsibilities will include undertaking landscape construction works, operating landscaping equipment, preparing sites, installing turf, constructing retaining walls and completing general landscaping projects.

We are looking for someone who can be given a task, understand what needs to be done and complete the work efficiently and to a high standard without requiring constant supervision.

This is a physically demanding, hands-on position. You must be comfortable working alongside the team and undertaking all aspects of landscaping work.

Experience Required

Applicants must have extensive professional landscaping experience and be highly competent across a broad range of landscape construction activities, including:

- Retaining wall construction, including timber and concrete sleeper retaining walls
- Excavation, earthworks and site preparation
- Accurate levelling, grading and establishing correct falls
- Drainage installation and stormwater management
- Natural turf preparation and installation
- Artificial turf preparation and installation
- Paving, pathways and general hardscaping
- Garden construction and complete landscape renovations
- Soil preparation, excavation and improvements




- Planting and general horticultural works
- Mulching, edging and garden bed construction
- General residential and commercial landscaping
- Safe and efficient use of landscaping tools and equipment

Strong retaining wall construction, site preparation and turf installation experience are particularly important for this position.

We are looking for someone with genuine practical experience who understands how landscaping projects come together from start to finish.

Artificial Turf Installation

WM Gardens is currently expanding into additional artificial turf installation contract work, with numerous projects expected to form part of our ongoing workload.

As a result, previous hands-on artificial turf installation experience is required for this position.

Applicants should have practical experience with:

- Site preparation and excavation
- Base preparation, levelling and compaction
- Installation of road base and crusher dust
- Artificial turf measuring, cutting and positioning
- Joining, seaming and securing artificial turf
- Installation around garden beds, pathways and other obstacles
- Finishing and presenting artificial turf installations to a qualified standard

While artificial turf installation will be an important part of the role, this is a general landscaping position, not exclusively an artificial turf installation position.

You will be working across a wide variety of landscaping projects depending on our workload.

Machinery & Equipment Experience

Applicants should have strong experience using general landscaping tools and equipment, including:

- Plate compactors and compaction equipment
- Laser levels and levelling equipment
- Landscaping power tools
- Turf preparation and installation equipment
- Trailers, including reversing and manoeuvring
- General construction and landscaping machinery

Experience operating excavators, skid steers, mini loaders and tipper trucks will be highly regarded but is not essential.

We value strong practical skills, equipment knowledge and the ability to work safely and efficiently.

- Have extensive, proven professional landscaping experience
- Be highly competent across a broad range of landscape construction works
- Have strong experience constructing retaining walls
- Have practical experience installing natural and artificial turf




- Be confident working independently and completing tasks without constant supervision
- Have excellent attention to detail and take pride in their workmanship
- Be physically fit, hardworking and willing to undertake all aspects of landscaping
- Have excellent practical problem-solving skills
- Be reliable, punctual and professional
- Be confident using landscaping tools and equipment
- Be comfortable working as part of a team
- Be capable of assisting and guiding less experienced workers when required
- Hold a valid Australian manual driver’s licence
- Hold a White Card
- Have reliable transport to and from work

Experience as a leading hand, senior landscaper or site supervisor will be highly regarded, although previous supervisory experience is not essential.

Additional Trade Experience

Broader construction and trade experience will be highly regarded, particularly experience with:

- Concreting
- Carpentry
- Fencing
- Irrigation
- Drainage
- Basic plumbing associated with landscaping
- General construction and handyman work

Excellent tool knowledge, practical skills and the ability to adapt to different landscaping projects will be highly valued.
