About the Role

We're looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in Laverton North on a fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension.

Reporting to our Management Accountant, you'll support the day-to-day accounting function, helping ensure financial records are accurate, reporting deadlines are met and financial controls are maintained.

This is a hands-on prospect for someone looking to build their accounting experience in a growing global business, working across month-end reporting, reconciliations, fixed assets and audit preparation.

Some of the particulars that you will be working on include:

- Supporting month-end and year-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, reviewing clearing accounts and investigating discrepancies to ensure the general ledger remains accurate.
- Maintaining the fixed asset register, including asset additions, disposals, depreciation and capital expenditure tracking.




- Assisting with financial and management reporting, along with ad hoc financial analysis and accounting tasks.
- Supporting external audits by preparing reconciliations, audit schedules and supporting documentation, and responding to auditor queries.
- Ensuring compliance with financial policies and internal controls, while identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting.

About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, analytical and takes pride in getting the details right. You'll be comfortable working independently, managing deadlines and following any discrepancies through to resolution, while also enjoying working collaboratively with the wider Finance team.

Other experience you'll require for this role includes:

- A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or currently working towards one.
- 1–2 years' experience in an accounting or finance role.
- A sound understanding of accounting principles and general ledger functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, Great Plains or similar.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication, organisation and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.

Experience with month-end reconciliations, fixed assets or external audit preparation will be particularly useful.

Eligibility for this role may include a police check and the right to work in Australia.
