DGH is seeking skilled Fitters to join our team for the Cannington Shut Down. This is a casual position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise to a significant industrial maintenance and shutdown operation.

What you'll be doing

- Performing maintenance and repair work on industrial equipment and machinery as part of the shutdown operation
- Installing, aligning and assembling mechanical components and systems to precise specifications
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and work instructions accurately
- Conducting diagnostic work to identify mechanical faults and implement effective solutions
- Using hand tools, power tools and specialised equipment safely and competently
- Collaborating with other trades and team members to ensure shutdown objectives are met on schedule
- Maintaining a clean and safe work workplace, adhering to all health and safety protocols
- Documenting work completed and reporting on progress to supervisors





What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Fitter in industrial, mining or heavy equipment maintenance environments
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and general machinery operation
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and understanding engineering specifications
- Competence with hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Commitment to health and safety standards and a strong safety record
- Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to work on a project basis
- Experience in shutdown or turnaround operations would be highly advantageous
