Are you a senior practice nurse ready for your next step, or a nurse leader looking for Monday to Friday hours and work that makes a real difference in the community? As Clinical Nurse Coordinator, reporting to the Manager, Medical Services, you will lead the nursing team in a bulk-billed general practice serving some of Melbourne's most diverse communities.

This role offers something private general practice rarely can: public sector pay and conditions at CN6, salary packaging, and no nights or weekends. You will balance leadership with around two days a week of hands-on clinical care, and help shape how the service grows.

This is a permanent full time position based on-site in Melbourne's north.

Your Key Responsibilities as the Clinical Nurse Coordinator:

- Team Leadership: Provide line management, professional supervision, peer review and development for the medical services nursing team.
- Clinical Practice: Stay close to patient care, delivering hands-on nursing services for around two days per week on average.
- Clinic Operations: Oversee the day-to-day running of the clinic, including rostering, leave and appointments, in partnership with the Manager.
- Clinical Governance: Lead infection prevention and control, medication safety and cold chain management across the service.
- Service Development: Work alongside the Manager to develop and implement new systems and initiatives that strengthen the service.
- Quality & Compliance: Support budgets, targets and reporting, take part in audits, and recommend improvements to safety and service delivery.
- Community & Partnerships: Contribute to health promotion and preventative screening, respond to client feedback,

and work closely with GPs and external partners.

About You:

- A clinical leader with a track record of guiding nursing teams and lifting standards of care
- General practice experience is a real advantage, but nurse leaders from hospital, outpatient or community settings are warmly encouraged to apply
- Strong clinical assessment skills, including care of the deteriorating patient, and a calm head in an emergency
- Experience in community or primary health settings, working with diverse communities, refugee clients and interpreters
- Confident with multidisciplinary teams, project work and building systems that make a service run better
- Respiratory experience (inpatient, outpatient, ED, pulmonary rehab or chronic disease) is highly regarded
- A warm, can-do communicator who thrives in a changing environment and genuinely cares about equity in health
- Postgraduate qualifications or solid experience in management, leadership or public health
- Essential: Registered Nurse (Division 1) with current AHPRA registration.

Why This Organisation:

This organisation is a progressive, independent community health service offering primary care, allied health, mental health, oral health and social support across Melbourne. Its people are guided by courage, empathy, integrity and a shared vision of health and wellbeing for everyone. You will join a collaborative, inclusive team that challenges the status quo and celebrates diversity, with applications warmly encouraged from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGBTIQA+ people, people with disability and those from culturally diverse backgrounds.
