The Head of AI Enablement will own our client AI and automation program end to end, with two explicit focuses: the manufacturing department and internal business processes. In the factory, this means taking the Replit-built platform to the next level so production runs on accurate, live data with minimal manual handling. In the office, it means automating repetitive work across quoting, job intake, purchasing, accounts, payroll inputs, reporting and administration. This is a builder's role, not an advisory one. You will work closely with the factory manager and office leads, who bring the process knowledge while you build the systems around it.
Key responsibilities
Take technical ownership of our client operations platform on Replit, including factory kiosks, stone job tracking, dispatch and client portals
Map the full manufacturing workflow from order and drawings through slab allocation, cutting, finishing, quality checks and dispatch, and remove bottlenecks and double handling
Build production planning and capacity tools so factory workload, machine time and labour are scheduled against order due dates
Automate job intake from drawings and orders, cutting lists, slab and stock tracking, remake tracking and dispatch dockets
Surface live production data and KPIs (throughput, lead times, remakes, waste, labour productivity) for the factory manager and directors
Ship new features and fixes quickly using Replit Agent and hands-on code, reviewing and testing every change rather than accepting AI output at face value
Put engineering discipline around the platform: version control, separate development and production environments, database backups, user access control and documentation
Map how internal work actually gets done across sales, estimating, purchasing, accounts, payroll and administration, and find where AI and automation can remove manual effort
Automate repetitive office tasks such as data entry, quote and order generation, purchase orders, supplier invoice processing, timesheet and payroll inputs, and client statements
Connect the operations platform to the rest of the business through APIs, including accounting, payroll, CRM, email and supplier systems, so data is entered once
About you
Proven competence building AI, automation or software solutions that work in a real business, demonstrated through your portfolio rather than years of experience
Demonstrated hands‑on Replit experience: apps you have built, deployed and maintained on Replit, including effective use of Replit Agent
Ability to read, debug and review AI-generated code, and to recognise when the AI has got it wrong
Advanced use of generative AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot), including building agents, assistants or custom workflows and calling AI models from your own applications
Experience connecting systems through APIs and webhooks, and with automation platforms such as Make, Zapier or n8n
Proven track record of streamlining business processes: mapping how work is actually done, removing waste and duplication, and measuring the improvement
Strong data skills; able to turn messy spreadsheets and processes into structured tools
Clear communicator who can explain technology in plain language to factory and office staff
Our client is one of Australia's largest commercial tiling contractors, delivering floor and wall tiling, waterproofing, screeding and stone for builders and developers. Our client also manufactures stone benchtops in their own fabrication facility in Coolaroo, Melbourne. Our factory runs on a custom operations platform build on Replit, covering factory kiosks, stone job tracking, dispatch dockets, client portals and workforce KPIs.
Excellent salary package on offer with base salary in the range of $90k to $105k plus Superannuation.
