About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Aged Care Support Worker to join our growing team in Gladstone Park VIC 3043. This is a part-time position that offers adaptable working arrangements to suit your lifestyle whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of our elderly clients. As a Support Worker, you will provide essential personal care and support services to aged care clients, helping them maintain their independence and wellbeing whilst they remain in their own homes. This role is fundamental to our mission of delivering person-centred care and directly contributes to the health, dignity and quality of life of the individuals we serve.

Key responsibilities

- Provide personal care assistance including showering, dressing, toileting and grooming in a respectful and dignified manner
- Assist clients with mobility, transfers and safe movement around their home environment
- Support clients with activities of daily living such as meal preparation, light housekeeping and laundry
- Monitor and report on clients' physical and emotional wellbeing, noting any changes or concerns
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, supervisors and other care team members to ensure coordinated and consistent care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided and client interactions
- Respect client privacy, confidentiality and dignity at all times
- Follow all relevant health and safety protocols, including infection control and manual handling procedures




- Support clients to engage in social activities and maintain connections with family and community where appropriate

What we're looking for

- Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent qualification, or demonstrated commitment to obtaining this qualification
- Experience working in aged care, disability support or a similar caring role is highly desirable
- A genuine passion for supporting elderly people and commitment to person-centred care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build respectful relationships with clients and colleagues
- Physical capability to assist with personal care, mobility and manual handling tasks, with understanding of safe work practices
- Reliability, punctuality and the ability to manage time effectively across multiple client visits
- A current Working with Children Check and/or Working with Vulnerable People Check as required by legislation
- Ability to work independently whilst maintaining professional standards and seeking guidance when needed
- Compassion, patience and a non-judgmental approach to supporting diverse clients with varying needs
- Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain this
