About us

Ital Biscuits and Cakes is a wholly Australian-owned food manufacturer established in 1972 and Australia's largest producer of Panettone cakes. From our manufacturing facility in Campbellfield, we produce speciality biscuits and cakes under our own brands and as private-label products for major retail chains, wholesalers, independent retailers and export markets.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to evaluate the processes and methods used in our existing ICT systems and to propose modifications, additional system components or new systems that meet the needs of our operational and administrative users across production, packaging, warehousing, quality and finance.

Key duties and responsibilities

•Work with users across the business to formulate and document system requirements and business requirements

•Identify, investigate and analyse business processes, procedures and work practices supported by the company's ICT systems

•Review and evaluate existing systems, identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to system functionality and behaviour

•Propose modifications, additional system components or current systems to meet user needs as expressed in specifications and other documentation





•Develop functional specifications and use data and process modelling techniques to create clear system specifications for system developers and vendors

•Develop system plans and documentation, and use project management methods to plan, cost, resource and manage system projects

•Create and implement system test plans to ensure the quality and integrity of systems before deployment

•Create user and training documentation and conduct training for staff

•Act as a central reference and information source, providing guidance to management in system project decision making

•Consult with users and developers to design improvements to the functionality of the company's systems

Skills and experience required

•Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Information Technology or a related ICT field

•Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a Systems Analyst or in a closely related ICT role

•Experience in requirements gathering, process analysis and functional specification writing

•Knowledge of data and process modelling and system testing methods

•Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with non-technical users

Alternatively, at least five years of relevant experience and/or relevant vendor certification may be considered in place of the formal qualification.
