We're partnering with a leading Australian financial services organisation seeking an accomplished Staff Software Engineer to help shape its next generation of customer identity, authentication and API platforms.
This is a highly technical, hands‑on engineering position, offering the opportunity to influence architecture, solve complex engineering challenges and establish engineering standards across business‑critical platforms.

What we're looking for

- A strong background in hands‑on software engineering is essential.
- Significant experience developing production applications, APIs or distributed systems.
- Strong programming capability, ideally Java, Spring Boot or similar backend technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms, microservices, CI/CD and modern engineering practices.
- Understanding of authentication, authorisation, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect or API security.
- Experience designing and supporting highly available, business‑critical platforms.
- Ability to influence technical decisions and mentor engineers.

Previous experience in banking, financial services or large‑scale digital platforms would be advantageous.

Important: This is a software engineering leadership position, not a traditional IAM administration or security governance role.
