SeeBeyondBorders Australia (SBBA) is a purpose-driven, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving teaching and learning outcomes for children in rural Cambodia. Established in 2009, our work has been recognised by UNESCO and the Cambodian Ministry of Education, contributing to improved educational outcomes for more than 30,000 children. We work in partnership with SBB Cambodia, an independent, locally led NGO, to strengthen education systems and create sustainable, lasting change.

We are seeking engaged, collaborative and purpose-driven individuals to join our skills-based Board of Directors and help guide the next phase of our organisation’s growth and impact. This is an prospect to contribute your professional expertise, strategic thinking and networks to an organisation making a tangible difference in children’s lives, while further developing your governance experience.

We welcome expressions of interest from individuals with expertise in international development, education, the Cambodian context, fundraising, partnerships, communications, finance, risk, legal or governance.



Experience working in Cambodia or Southeast Asia, particularly within the local NGO sector, will be highly regarded. Previous Board experience is desirable but not essential. Above all, we are looking for individuals who share our values, embrace locally led development and are willing to contribute actively to our mission.

These are voluntary positions, with Board meetings held every 2–3 months (including one in-person meeting annually) and an estimated commitment of approximately four hours per month. Board members are encouraged to visit Cambodia to experience our work first-hand.
