The Growem Up Strongwan (GUS) Program is a culturally secure, family-centred maternal, infant and child health program designed to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families from pregnancy through the early years of a child’s life. The program aims to improve the health, wellbeing, confidence and resilience of mothers, babies, children and families by providing holistic, strengths-based support that addresses both clinical and social determinants of health.
The AHP provides culturally safe clinical care, health education, advocacy, care coordination and community engagement to improve maternal, infant and child health outcomes. Working as part of an integrated Maternal, Infant, Women’s and Child Health team, the RAHP helps bridge cultural, community and health system perspectives to ensure families receive holistic, accessible and culturally responsive care.
