About the role

This role involves grounds maintenance and field preparation for Rugby League Mackay & District (RLMD). You will be responsible for maintaining the playing fields and surrounding areas to a high standard, ensuring the facility is neat and presentable at all times.

Key responsibilities

- Mow playing fields as directed

- Mow surrounding areas of playing fields within the Mackay JRL grounds as directed

- Whipper snip all edges of buildings and structures as well as under fences within the Mackay JRL grounds

- Poison edges and weeds as directed

- Follow a maintenance schedule and communicate with RLMD board all new maintenance required throughout RLMD facility

- Basic maintenance and care of mower, whipper snipper, blower and JRL field maintenance equipment (daily pre-start checks, blow out air filters weekly, replace blades)





- Mark playing fields weekly during the Rugby League playing season and clean and maintain line marker after each use

- Prepare venue for game days/events

- Rubbish management (place bins around venue, collect rubbish after game days/events)

- Keep the Mackay JRL grounds in a neat and presentable manner

About you

- Experience in general playing field maintenance, mowing, whipper-snipping and poisoning

- Able to take direction and complete tasks assigned daily and weekly

- Able to work unsupervised in a safe and productive manner

- Basic computer skills (email)

- Self-motivated and driven person who can complete tasks as required

- Ability to communicate effectively as part of a team

- Commitment to a secure workplace and practices
