Are you a UK-trained Radiographer ready for a change of scenery? We are seeking an experienced MRI Radiographer for a locum contract with a medical imaging service in Cairns, Tropical North Queensland, running until 29 January 2027. MRI is the main focus of the role, and MRI-only applicants are welcome. Radiographers who can also rotate through CT or general X-ray are preferred, but you don’t need to cover every modality to apply. Our team will guide you through the move, including AHPRA registration and the steps to start working in Australia.
- Perform MRI examinations across a varied range of referrals
- Rotate through CT and/or general X-ray where skills allow
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images in line with departmental protocols and MRI safety standards
- Complete MRI safety screening and provide safe, patient-centred care throughout each scan
- Work collaboratively with radiologists, referrers and the wider imaging team
- Maintain accurate imaging records and documentation

About You:
- Qualified Diagnostic Radiographer with MRI experience, trained in the UK (HCPC registered) or Australia
- AHPRA registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner, or eligible to apply (we can guide you through the process)
- CT and/or general X-ray experience preferred but not essential
- Ideally at least 1 year of post-graduate experience
- Eligible for an Australian visa or holding valid working rights
- National Police Clearance (or overseas equivalent)
