Role Description The Commercial Associate Lawyer will work full time in office in Melbourne, VIC, focusing on commercial matters for a diverse client base. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, advising clients on legal issues related to business operations, and providing clear, practical legal advice. The role involves identifying and managing legal risks, including data privacy and compliance obligations, and assisting in commercial disputes as needed. The Associate will liaise with clients, prepare legal documentation, conduct legal research,



and collaborate with colleagues to deliver timely, high-quality legal services. Qualifications
• Strong foundation in Law, with demonstrated experience in commercial practice.
• Ability to draft, review, and negotiate Commercial Contracts that protect client interests.
• Experience identifying and managing Legal Issues in business and commercial contexts.
• Proven capability in providing clear, actionable Legal Advice to a range of clients.
• Knowledge of Data Privacy requirements and related regulatory compliance.
• Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction and current practising certificate.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing communication.
• Solid legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively within a team.
• Prior experience in a commercial or litigation-focused law firm environment is advantageous.
