Venue Manager, Running With Thieves - Port Hedland

Overlooking the Ocean Channel and Spoilbank Marina, Running With Thieves, Port Hedland, is open for business.

With multiple kitchens, bars, function spaces, family friendly areas including a playground, RWT will have something for everyone. The venue will showcase local Pilbara and Western Australian produce, RWT craft beers, and seasonal menus suited to the climate and coastal lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

With a soft opening underway, it is full steam ahead for our team to bring the venue to life and operate at full capacity. The Venue Manager will have full day-to-day operational responsibilities including:

- Ensuring the efficient management of the venue to control costs including wages, COGS, wastage etc
- Recruitment, rostering and timesheet approvals (we currently use TANDA)
- Hands on operational oversight, leading by example to train, develop and manage a diverse team of staff members to provide excellent customer service
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales, increase profitability, and enhance customer satisfaction
- Develop and deliver a strong events strategy, ensuring profitability while supporting the requirements of the Port Hedland Community
- Liaising with the kitchen to ensure consistent quality and presentation of meals.
- Driving continuous improvement of the customer experience.




- Ensuring compliance with employment and workplace legislation including Fairwork, liquor licensing, council regulations, food safety and WHS
- Oversee inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships to ensure stock levels and product quality
- This position also the local contact for our staff rental accommodation, liaising with property managers to for all matters related to the lease and maintenance of the property. You’ll be fully supported by a team of hospitality experts, including other RWT Venue Managers, Executive Chef, Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance and Brewery Professionals.

Key Requirements

- Proven experience in hospitality management, preferably in a large brewery, bar, or restaurant setting.
- Experience in financial management, budgeting, and cost control
- Robust leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage the performance of a diverse team
- Pragmatic approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work autonomously with direction and guidance from the Operations Leadership team.
- Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
- At least 5 years of hospitality, venue and people management experience.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Knowledge of Hospitality venue requirements and legislation
- Experience working in a country/rural location is an advantage
