Charcoal Loco is a modern halal charcoal grill restaurant in Mount Lawley, specialising in premium steaks, ribs, grilled chicken, burgers, and sharing platters. We are focused on delivering high-quality food, exceptional customer experiences, and building a strong restaurant brand in Perth.

We are currently seeking a passionate and motivated Chef / Grill Chef to join our growing kitchen team. We welcome applications from Job Ready Program (JRP) candidates who are looking to complete their required work hours while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment.

About the Role

You will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality grilled and charcoal dishes while maintaining consistency, speed, and presentation in a fast-paced kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook premium charcoal-grilled meats and steaks
- Cook ribs, chicken, burgers, and side dishes
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
- Follow food safety and hygiene requirements
- Assist with food preparation, stock rotation, and kitchen organisation
- Work efficiently during busy lunch and dinner services
- Follow recipes and kitchen procedures
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team

What We're Looking For

- Previous kitchen experience as a Chef, Cook, or Grill Chef preferred




- JRP candidates seeking placement hours are encouraged to apply
- Passion for cooking and learning in a professional kitchen environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude
- Strong commitment to food quality and customer satisfaction
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Desirable Skills

- Experience with charcoal grilling, BBQ, or steak cooking
- Knowledge of halal food preparation
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or currently completing)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Valid Australian working rights
