We are seeking an experienced, Australia-based freelance bookkeeper to support small Australian businesses on an ongoing contract basis, averaging approximately 20-30 hours per month. This is a part time role with sporadic but recurring scopes, ideal for someone who can jump in quickly, communicate clearly, and deliver without missing deadlines. What You’ll Work On
- Review and maintain the Chart of Accounts
- Manage accounts payable
- Produce monthly P&L;, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
- Process wages and payroll via Wise
- Ensure records align with Australian accounting standards and compliance
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning
- Organise and maintain financial documents using Google Drive, Sheets, and Docs Requirements
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper for Australian businesses
- Strong working knowledge of Xero
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
- Comfortable managing multiple small business accounts




- Availability for 7 to 10 hours/week with flexibility for urgent requests.
