Learning Leader - Health and Physical Education

Whitefriars College is a Catholic boys’ school in the Carmelite tradition. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced educator to join our team asLearning Leader – Health and Physical Education, commencing at the beginning of 2027.

The Learning Leader – Health and Physical Education is a significant leadership role responsible for providing strategic and educational leadership across the Health and Physical Education Learning Area. Reporting to the Deputy Principal – Learning and Teaching, and ultimately to the Principal, the successful applicant will lead curriculum development, strengthen teaching practice and promote engaging, inclusive and contemporary learning experiences that support student achievement, wellbeing and lifelong participation in health and physical activity.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to educational excellence and the capacity to lead and develop a collaborative team of educators. They will support the design, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs,



assessment and reporting practices, ensuring alignment with the Victorian Curriculum and relevant VCE and VCE Vocational Major requirements. The ability to teach VCE Health and Human Development would be highly regarded.

This role provides an opportunity for an accomplished educator to contribute to the strategic direction of the College, build staff capacity and foster a positive learning culture that encourages students to develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and a lifelong appreciation of health and physical activity.

This is a three-year Position of Leadership (POL) appointment.

It is expected of all employed at Whitefriars College that they accept and support the ethos of the Carmelite order, and activities directed at the broader aims of the College (e.g. the Carmelite mission in Timor-Leste).
