Casey Smiles is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team on a part-time/ Full time basis at our Cranbourne practice. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinical operations, enhancing patient experience, and supporting our dental practitioners in delivering high-quality treatments.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting dentists during a wide range of clinical procedures, including restorations, extractions, root canal treatments, and cosmetic dentistry
- Preparing treatment rooms, sterilising instruments, and ensuring all equipment is ready for patient appointments
- Processing dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with safety protocols
- Recording patient information accurately and maintaining detailed clinical notes during treatments
- Providing chairside support and ensuring patient comfort throughout dental procedures
- Managing patient communication, including pre and post-operative instructions
- Maintaining infection control and adhering to strict health and safety standards
- Supporting the reception team with scheduling, appointment reminders, and general administrative tasks as required
- Ordering and managing dental supplies and materials inventory
- Contributing to a positive team environment and supporting the overall success of the practice

What we're looking for

- Formal qualifications as a Dental Assistant or equivalent recognised certification
- Experience working as a dental assistant in an active dental practice
- Solid knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and clinical protocols
- Competency in chairside assistance and instrument management




- Excellent communication skills and a patient-focused approach to care
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, with attention to detail
- Commitment to maintaining infection control and health and safety standards
- A reliable, skilled attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Current CPR certification and willingness to maintain professional development
- Proficiency with dental practice management software is desirable
