Breakfast Chef – Wollongong Golf Club

Wollongong Golf Club is one of the Illawarra’s leading hospitality and lifestyle destinations, offering premium dining, golf, accommodation, weddings, corporate functions, events and member experiences in a spectacular oceanfront setting.

With our exciting clubhouse refurbishment nearing completion, we are entering an exciting new chapter, with refreshed hospitality spaces, a new wine cellar and private dining room complementing our existing dining and events offering.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Breakfast Chef to join our kitchen team and play an important role in delivering high-quality food across our restaurant, functions, events and member dining.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head Chef and working closely with the wider kitchen team, you will be responsible for maintaining consistently high food preparation, presentation and service standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality food to Club standards.
- Working across various sections of the kitchen as required, including preparation, service and functions.
- Ensuring consistency in food quality, portion control and presentation.
- Assisting with the preparation and delivery of weddings, corporate functions, events and special occasions.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient section throughout service.
- Ensuring food is prepared and stored in accordance with food safety requirements.




- Working collaboratively with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and wider kitchen team.
- Supporting junior kitchen staff and contributing to a positive team environment.
- Assisting with stock rotation, preparation and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Following Club procedures, food safety requirements and workplace health and safety standards.
- Contributing ideas and maintaining a high standard of professionalism and presentation.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about food, takes pride in their work and understands the importance of delivering a consistently excellent breakfast experience.

Ideally, you will have:

- Previous experience as a Breakfast Chef, Chef de Partie or in a similar commercial kitchen role.
- Experience preparing and delivering breakfast service in a busy hospitality environment.
- Relevant commercial cookery qualifications.
- Solid knowledge of breakfast cooking techniques, food preparation and presentation.
- The ability to work independently, manage priorities and maintain an organised section.
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency.




- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to food safety and hygiene.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to work collaboratively.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow direction.
- Flexibility to support broader kitchen operations when required.

Early morning availability is essential for this role, with rostered weekend and public holiday work as required.

Qualifications & Experience Required

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, ideally with breakfast service experience.
- Food Safety Supervisor certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Current Australian working rights.
