Preventative Maintenance Technician – HVAC & Refrigeration

At Modus Projects, we're building dedicated Preventative Maintenance teams and looking for experienced HVAC & Refrigeration Technicians who want to focus on quality work, planned maintenance and a better work-life balance.

This is a different kind of maintenance role. You'll follow a scheduled maintenance program across commercial client sites, with work planned in advance and support from our national operations team.

No on-call roster. No after-hours rotation. No chasing breakdowns on your days off. When your shift ends, your day is yours.

What You'll Be Doing

- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance across commercial HVAC and refrigeration assets.

- Complete routine servicing, inspections, testing and condition reports.

- Identify defects and report issues so the reactive team can arrange repairs.

- Keep maintenance records and compliance documentation up to date using a phone or tablet.

- Follow site safety requirements and maintain high standards of workmanship.

- Travel between client sites as required, including trips more than 50km from your base.

What We're Looking For

- A current HVAC & Refrigeration trade qualification.

- Hands‑on experience in commercial HVAC maintenance.

- Strong attention to detail, fault identification and reporting skills.





- A safety‑first mindset and pride in doing the job properly.

- Confidence using a phone or tablet to complete job records.

- Current driver's licence, Blue Card and White Card.
