Duo Tax Quantity Surveyors is a growing Australian property services business specialising in tax depreciation, property valuation and property insurance. We’re looking for a resourceful developer to build, improve and maintain the applications our team and customers use every day.
About the role
Our development workflow centres on Claude Code and Codex working directly within our Git repositories. You’ll use these tools to investigate existing systems, plan changes, implement features, diagnose issues and verify results.
You’ll work across an established collection of business applications, shared services and integrations. This includes internal dashboards, customer forms, reporting tools, workflow automation and developer tooling.
You’ll own work from understanding the business problem through to deployment and checking that the solution works for its users.
What you’ll be doing
Work directly with internal teams to identify bottlenecks and turn business needs into useful software.
Use Claude Code and Codex effectively, providing clear requirements, repository context and feedback.
Build and maintain full-stack applications, APIs, integrations and automation.
Follow repository instructions and established architecture, including shared components and API contracts.
Manage changes through Git branches, isolated worktrees and GitHub pull requests while preserving other developers’ work.
Review generated code, investigate root causes and run checks appropriate to each change.
Maintain databases, authentication, access controls and secure handling of credentials.
Deploy updates, verify live behaviour and maintain practical documentation.
What we’re looking for
Demonstrated experience delivering working software with Claude Code, Codex or comparable coding agents, with a willingness to work primarily in our tools.
Confidence reading unfamiliar codebases, tracing problems across frontend and backend systems, and improving existing applications.
Sound understanding of APIs, relational databases, authentication and secure development.
Comfortable using the terminal, Git, GitHub pull requests and cloud deployment tools.
The ability to assess AI output, spot mistakes and explain technical decisions.
Initiative, clear communication and accountability for completed outcomes.
A practical approach to feedback, iteration and continuous improvement.
Technical Skills
APIs & Integrations: Salesforce, Microsoft Graph API, Payment Platform Integrations, External API Integrations
