HUGE EARNING POTENTIAL Circa $175,000.00 to $200,00.00 and above
Start and finish at home (minimal office visits). Work across Melbourne. Get paid to enjoy solving problems.
Are you an Industrial Electrician who enjoys fault-finding, working with PLCs and getting stuck into real industrial challenges?
Want a role where you're trusted to get on with the job, work across a variety of customer sites and be part of a team that values good people as much as good workmanship?
This could be the prospect you've been looking for.
We're recruiting several Industrial Automation Electricians for an established industrial electrical and automation business supporting manufacturing clients across Melbourne's northern, eastern and western suburbs.
The work is varied, the technical challenges are genuine, and you'll have the backing of an experienced team that understands industrial environments and takes pride in doing things properly.
Why This Role Stands Out
- $58–$62 per hour + super ++++, Negotiable depending on experience. (Massive earning potential circa $175,000.00 to $200,00.00 and above Sounds too good to be true but is very “do-able”)
- Full-use company vehicle — start and finish your working day at home, with very little need to attend the office.
- Double-time call-out rates, with a minimum four hours paid per call-out.
- General overtime available, including some Saturday work.
- A mix of scheduled maintenance, breakdowns and planned shutdowns across multiple customer sites.
- Work with industrial machinery, PLCs, automation systems and manufacturing equipment.
- Opportunities to develop your technical skills across a range of industrial environments.
- A close-knit,
hands-on team where everyone pitches in when the pressure is on — including the owner.
And the culture? Professional, down-to-earth and refreshingly straightforward. The team has a simple philosophy: good people, no egos and absolutely no room for “Richard Heads”
What You'll Be Doing
No sitting around waiting for the same machine to break down every week. You'll be out working with customers to keep production equipment operating safely, reliably and efficiently.
Your work will include:
- Carrying out scheduled and preventative electrical maintenance across industrial and manufacturing sites.
- Responding to breakdowns, diagnosing faults and getting production equipment back up and running.
- Installing, testing, resetting and troubleshooting PLCs and associated control systems.
- Fault-finding industrial automation equipment, electrical control circuits, motors, VSDs, sensors and instrumentation.
- Supporting planned shutdowns, equipment servicing, machinery upgrades and electrical installation projects.
- Assisting with automation improvements, control system modifications and commissioning activities.
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics and control diagrams.
- Working directly with customers,
maintenance personnel and production teams to resolve technical issues.
- Maintaining high standards of electrical safety, workmanship and customer service.
PLC capability is essential. You need practical experience working with PLC-based equipment, including installation, testing, resets and troubleshooting. (basic programming adjustments knowledge is highly desirable)
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a capable industrial electrician who can think on their feet, work independently and represent the business professionally at customer sites.
You’ll need:
- A current Victorian A-Grade Electrical Licence — essential.
- At least three years' relevant industrial electrical experience, within manufacturing and related industrial environments.
- Practical PLC experience covering installation, testing, resets and fault-finding.
- Strong electrical diagnostic skills and the ability to identify the cause of a fault, not just replace components.
- Experience with industrial machinery, automation systems, motor controls and VSDs.
- The ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- A strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship and doing the job properly.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to work directly with customers.
- A reliable, proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A current driver's licence.
