Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Business Services team in a 12-month parental leave replacement position.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the School's financial records and ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting.

Role Details

- 12-month parental leave contract
- Part-time 0.80 FTE (4 days per week)

Responsibilities

- General ledger maintenance and reconciliations
- Financial reporting and year-end audit preparation
- Fixed asset register management and capital expenditure reporting
- Preparation of BAS and other statutory reporting requirements
- Support for annual government financial reporting obligations
- Management of philanthropic and scholarship reporting
- Debtor administration, fee billing and receivables management




- Accounts payable support and payment processing
- Accounting support for the Merton Hall Foundation

Qualifications

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or a related discipline
- CA or CPA qualification
- Demonstrated experience in a similar accounting role
- Robust knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations and compliance requirements
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Experience with Synergetic or similar school management systems will be highly regarded
- A current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check
