We are seeking a Dental Assistant on a casual part-time basis to join our team at Torquay Family Dentists, located in Torquay, QLD 4655. In this role, you will support our dental practitioners and help ensure a smooth, efficient and positive experience for our patients. As a casual team member, you will have flexibility in your schedule whilst contributing meaningfully to the daily operations of our practice. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a professional dental workplace and work alongside experienced practitioners.

Key responsibilities

- Assisting dentists during patient treatments and procedures
- Preparing treatment rooms, sterilising instruments and ensuring all equipment is clean and ready for use
- Greeting patients, answering reception enquiries and managing patient check-in procedures
- Maintaining patient records and documentation in compliance with privacy regulations
- Providing chairside support during dental procedures, including instrument passing and moisture control
- Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic practice environment




- Supporting administrative tasks including scheduling appointments and billing inquiries

What we’re looking for

- Ideally, a qualification as a Dental Assistant or Dental Assistant Certificate (or equivalent) recognised in Queensland, though training can be provided.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to providing outstanding patient care
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to the casual, flexible nature of the role
- Reliability and punctuality in meeting scheduled shifts
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks
- Preferred experience: previous experience working in a dental practice or healthcare setting
