About the role

We are seeking a Junior Swimming Coach to join our dynamic team on a casual or part-time basis. You will be working across multiple Elite Swimming venues (including Pascoe Vale, Keilor East, West Footscray and Victoria University) delivering high-quality swimming instruction and coaching to swimmers of various ages and ability levels. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable coaching experience, develop your skills, and make a positive impact on swimmers' development. As a Junior Swimming Coach, you will work flexible hours depending on venue requirements and class schedules, allowing you to balance coaching with other commitments.

Key responsibilities

- Deliver engaging and effective swimming lessons and coaching sessions to groups and individual swimmers across multiple venues
- Plan and structure age-appropriate and ability-appropriate coaching programmes that develop swimming technique, water safety, and confidence
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to swimmers and help them set achievable goals
- Ensure all sessions comply with water safety standards and maintain a safe coaching environment
- Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents and guardians regarding progress and development
- Maintain accurate records of swimmer attendance and progress




- Support senior coaching staff and contribute to the overall development of Elite Swimming's coaching programmes
- Demonstrate professional conduct, punctuality and reliability across all assigned venues

What we're looking for

- Current Swimming Coach Level 1 certification (or equivalent recognised qualification) or willingness to obtain certification
- Current Working with Children Check (WWC) clearance or ability to obtain one prior to commencing
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain certification)
- Demonstrated experience working with swimmers of various ages and abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire swimmers
- Knowledge of swimming techniques, water safety practices, and coaching methodologies
- Flexibility to work across multiple venues and adapt to varying class schedules
- A passion for swimming and commitment to developing swimmers in a supportive environment
- Professional approach to health and safety compliance in aquatic environments
