Medical Receptionist: Join Elwood Village Medical

This is a permanent part-time role of 20 hours a week in Elwood, with role expansion potential, above award pay and a start from early November.

Elwood Village Medical is a brand-new general practice opening in early November, led by established GPs and supported by a warm, established core team. We are looking for an experienced medical receptionist to join us from the very beginning, someone who is hoping for a long-term home and whose values align with the way we practise. About the Role

You will be the welcoming first point of contact for our patients and a trusted support to our doctors and nurses. You will also have a genuine voice in refining the systems and culture that will carry the practice for years to come.

Here is what your days will look like.

- You will welcome patients with warmth and professionalism, so that every visit starts on the right note.
- You will manage the appointment book and coordinate scheduling.
- You will answer calls and triage enquiries with care.
- You will process payments, as well as Medicare and DVA billing.




- You will maintain accurate patient records and uphold strict confidentiality.
- You will support our clinical team to keep patient flow smooth and calm.
- You will contribute to the ongoing improvement of our practice systems.

About You

You bring warmth to every patient interaction, stay composed when it is busy, and take quiet pride in doing things well. You notice what needs doing and get on with it. We would also love to hear how our values resonate with you.

These are the essentials we are looking for.

- You have at least two years' experience as a medical receptionist in a GP practice.
- You have solid knowledge of Medicare, DVA and health fund processes.
- You communicate exceptionally well, both verbally and in writing, with compassion, attention to detail and composure.
- You have a respectful, team-first approach and a passion for quality improvement.
- You are available for permanent shifts on Monday, Friday and Saturday.

These would be a lovely bonus.

- You are able to start immediately.
- You have experience using AutoMed.
- You have experience with Best Practice software.
