Assistant Underwriter – Corporate Property

Join HDI Global’s Melbourne Property team and gain hands-on
experience underwriting some of Australia’s most complex and rewarding
Corporate and Mid-Market Property risks. Working alongside experienced
underwriters, brokers and industry specialists, you’ll develop the
technical, commercial and relationship management skills needed to
become a successful Property Underwriter.

Based in our Melbourne CBD office, you’ll play a key role supporting our market-leading Property




team across a portfolio of Mid-Market and Large Corporate accounts. You’ll work directly with
experienced underwriters, gain exposure to complex property risks, and develop the technical
expertise required for a successful underwriting career.

What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting the underwriting team with renewals, new business and portfolio management.
Assisting with premium calculations, technical pricing and reinsurance processing.
Preparing policy documentation, endorsements and underwriting files.
Managing renewal and quotation pipelines to ensure opportunities are progressed efficiently.
Responding to broker enquiries and delivering exceptional service.
Building strong relationships with brokers, clients and internal stakeholders.
Supporting underwriting operations and contributing to portfolio profitability.
Playing an active role in the continued growth of HDI’s Property portfolio.

Experience in General Insurance, Property Insurance or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and exceptional numerical capability.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A proactive,



curious and commercially minded approach.
ANZIIF studies (completed or underway) will be highly regarded.
