Employment Type: Casual (38hrs a week, with potential for full-time permanent positions)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Infrastructure Maintenance Officer to join our operations team in maintaining vital community infrastructure across the municipality. This hands-on role plays a critical part in ensuring the safety, functionality, and appearance of our roads, footpaths, stormwater systems, and other public assets.

You’ll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance tasks, operating equipment and vehicles safely, and representing the organisation with professionalism in your interactions with the public. Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain roads, footpaths, stormwater drainage systems, street signs, and street furniture within the municipality.
- Perform manual tasks including lifting, digging, raking, sweeping, and using mechanical tools.
- Operate and maintain plant, equipment, and personal protective equipment in line with safety protocols and manufacturer instructions.
- Drive vehicles and tow plant safely and in accordance with regulations and internal policies.
- Respond to service requests and enquiries from the public in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Collaborate with other internal units and external parties as required.
- Conduct and record daily pre-start checks on vehicles and equipment.
- Monitor the condition of resources and facilities, ensuring they are clean, safe,



and fit for purpose.
- Comply with recordkeeping responsibilities under the organisation’s Records Management Policy.
- Adhere to occupational health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures at all times.

Key Requirements:

- Ability to work independently and complete maintenance tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge and secure operation of tools and equipment used in road and drainage maintenance.
- Proficient in paving, concreting, asphalting, and general infrastructure repairs.
- Experience with street signage or furniture maintenance.
- Understanding of traffic control requirements (Traffic Control and Spotters tickets desirable).
- Previous experience in infrastructure or civil maintenance is highly regarded.
- Construction Induction Card (White Card) is required.
- Medium Rigid Licence is required.
- Traffic Control and Spotters Tickets are highly desirable.

- Police Check to be obtained prior to commencement
