The Sous Chef is responsible for supporting the head chef in leading all kitchen operations at Bright Taphouse, Croydon, ensuring a high-quality, consistent and effiecent food offering. The role is accountable for day-to-day kitchen execution, team leadership and maintaining standards across service, food safety and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

-Lead kitchen operation in the absence of the head chef.

- Ensure consistent execution of food during service periods

- Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation and portion control

- Mnagae kitchen workflow and performance during peak service

- Ensure all kitchen operation meet food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.

- Maintain a safe working environment in line OH&S; requirements

- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to kitchen team members

- Allocate tasks, manager service flow and monitor team performance

- Support training, onboarding and development of kitchen staff

- Assist in the managing staff hours, breaks and productivity during service

About you:

- Qualified chef with experience in a similar role





- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and service delivery

- Proven ability to lead and support a team in a fast-paced workplace

- Sound knowledge of food and safety, hygiene and compliance requirements

- Food safety supervisor certificate

- Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks and work under pressure

- Strong communication and organisational skills

- Understanding of kitchen financials including cost control and stock management

Pay: $75,100.00 – $83,800.00 per year
