Australian Industrial Vacuum (AIV) is a well-established company based in Tullamarine, VIC, specialising in the supply, assembly and servicing of industrial vacuum systems across a wide range of industries.

We source innovative, high-quality products from around the world and provide comprehensive after-sales support, including onsite and workshop-based servicing.

We are currently seeking a reliable, hands-on and mechanically minded individual to join our growing team as a Warehouse & Mechanical Assembler.

The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical fitting or small engine mechanics, with auto electrical experience highly regarded. The role involves extensive work with Honda and Kohler petrol engines, including mechanical assembly, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial vacuum equipment.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Tullamarine, Monday to Friday.

Mechanical Assembler/Fitter Role:

You’ll be part of a small, friendly workshop team responsible for the mechanical assembly, engine installation, diagnostics, repairs and integration of our industrial vacuum systems.

The role involves working extensively with Honda and Kohler petrol engines, along with practical mechanical fitting and light auto-electrical work.

Your responsibilities will include the final assembly of trailer-mounted and ute-mounted vacuum systems, preparing demonstration units and custom-built equipment, and assisting with general warehouse operations.

You’ll also work closely with our sales and service teams to coordinate build priorities,



assist with demonstration setups, troubleshoot mechanical issues and ensure all projects are completed efficiently, safely and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

- Assemble and fit out trailers and ute-mounted vacuum systems
- Install components such as belts, motors, and related mechanical/electrical parts
- Prepare demo and service equipment for the sales team
- Operate forklifts for loading and unloading (Forklift Licence ideal)
- Maintain workshop organisation and cleanliness
- Assist with warehouse logistics and general duties
- Follow all workplace health and safety requirements

Successful candidates will have the following:

- Ability to apply and adhere to workplace health and safety practices
- 3rd-year apprentice or equivalent hands-on mechanical/auto-electrical experience is preferred
- Current Australian driver’s licence (required)
- Forklift Licence (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and fault-finding ability
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and eager to learn
- Able to work both independently and in a small team workplace
- Committed to safe and efficient work practices
