About Us:

Youngster.co is a social enterprise that believes in the power of community and technology. We aim to bridge social and generational gaps through meaningful programs, where young people help others in relaxed one-on-one tech help sessions.

About This Role:

This is a 1:1 placement with an NDIS participant who is based in the Morayfield and Caboolture, QLD region. Our client is a friendly and independent adult with autism, who would like someone that understands autism, is tech-savvy and is easy to talk to.

They need help setting up their Google Nest and other Google devices in their home, such as creating notifications and using Google Assistance on their smartwatch.

Great fit for students or a professional wanting some extra work on the side - especially if you are tech-savvy and enjoy a role that feels meaningful.

Schedule:

- 2-3 hours, once off, with potential of repeated weekly sessions
- Dates are flexible
- In-person at the client's home

Potential to extend sessions if it's a good fit for both parties.

What You'll Do

Be alongside the client to help with their smart-devices and read instructions available online or in a manual. Explain instructions slowly, or help guide the client through them. Tech-competency is extremely ideal in this role, but we value your communication and compassion a lot more.

Who We're Looking For

- Naturally warm, patient, and easy to talk to
- Preferable if you have experience working with autism or understand autism
- Tech-savvy or genuinely interested in tech i.e. an IT background,



current IT/computer science study, or just a knack for technology
- Ability to explain tech questions in a simple, paced way
- Proactive and takes initiative to solve problems even if unfamiliar
- Comfortable working independently in someone's home

Requirements

- Aged 18 or over
- English proficiency
- Located within a reasonable distance of Morayfield or Caboolture, QLD
- Reliable and punctual for the agreed schedule
