About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Head Barista / Supervisor to lead our coffee program and help run the floor at Bissel B. You’ll be the go-to person on shift, setting the standard for coffee quality, service and cleanliness, and supporting the team so every shift runs smoothly.

Coffee responsibilities

- Make consistently excellent coffee and other drinks, including matcha, tea and hot chocolate
- Dial in the grinder each day and adjust through the shift for consistent quality
- Carry out regular chemical cleans and daily maintenance of the espresso machine and grinder
- Monitor coffee, milk and drink stock, and report ordering needs to management
- Train new baristas on technique, drink recipes, milk texturing and machine care

Supervisory responsibilities

- Lead shifts, delegating tasks and keeping the team on track during busy periods
- Open and close the cafe, including cash handling, till reconciliation and end-of-day checklists
- Keep service fast, friendly and consistent
- Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally
- Make sure cleaning,



hygiene and food safety standards are met
- Support the onboarding of new staff and provide feedback on their progress
- Communicate clearly with management about rostering gaps, stock and any issues

What we’re looking for

- 2+ years of barista experience, ideally with some experience leading or training others
- Strong knowledge of grinders, espresso machines and chemical cleans
- Confident leader who stays calm and positive under pressure
- Reliable, punctual and happy to work weekends
- Strong communication and organisation skills
- Food handling knowledge (a food safety certificate is a plus)

Pay: $28.00 – $48.52 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 per week
