Job Description

We are an engineering led delivery company specialising in advanced bioenergy and composting. We design,

deliver and commission the facilities that turn kerbside collected FOGO and industrial food organics into energy, compost and recovered resources, working with local and state government, major corporates and private operators, and bringing proven European technology to Australian conditions through partners such as Thoni and Bianna. OREZ is part of the CFC Group, which gives us the backing of a larger organisation while keeping the pace and autonomy of a growing specialist business.

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in Sutherland. You will work alongside our Project Managers and senior engineers across live projects, from early contractor involvement through design, procurement, construction and commissioning. It is broad, hands on work, and it is a deliberate development role: depending on where your strengths sit, it leads either into project management or into technical specialisation.

What you will be doing

- Supporting project delivery: RFIs and technical queries, programme and progress tracking, procurement and expediting, document control and reporting.
- Technical work: drawings, markups, bills of material, basic calculations, design and constructability reviews, vendor evaluation and testing.
- Getting on site:

coordination, inspections, subcontractor liaison, commissioning support and handover documentation.
- Working directly with clients and vendors as a day to day contact on your packages.

What we are looking for

- An engineering degree, mechanical, process, electrical, civil or chemical, or equivalent.
- Up to around four years of relevant experience. Strong graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Clear communication and the confidence to deal with clients, vendors and site teams.
- Strong organisation, and the ability to run several tasks at once with limited supervision.
- Australian working rights, a driver licence, and willingness to travel interstate.

CAD, scheduling tools, Procore, a White Card, or experience in waste, water, food processing or materials handling will all be well regarded, though none are essential.

Desired Skills and Experience

Why OREZ

- Real exposure to complex projects end to end.
- Mentoring from experienced engineers and project managers, inside a clear career pathway with transparent role bands.
- Travel to projects around Australia, and the potential to visit our technology partners in Europe.
- Participation in the Annual Incentive Plan, plus Employee Assistance Program access and a flexible, practical working culture.
- A small, capable team where what you do is visible and matters.

If this sounds like the next step for you, apply with your CV and a short cover letter telling us what interests you about the work. We review applications as they arrive.
