As we scale across multiple countries, we’re looking for a Senior Accountant to keep our month-end close, balance sheet and statutory reporting accurate and on time. You’ll work closely with the Financial Controller, our external advisers and our payroll providers, and you’ll help shape how our finance function runs as we grow.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys ownership, is comfortable working across jurisdictions and time zones, and likes improving processes as well as running them. Payroll experience is highly regarded, as you’ll support our payroll operations across six countries.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Reporting

- Lead the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities including the preparation of month-end journals and manage balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities.
- Review and analyse monthly results, explaining variances and delivering insight to the Financial Controller and senior management.
- Support day-to-day financial performance management, including intercompany accounting, multi-currency accounting and consolidation.
- Prepare analysis for ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives.

Payroll Support & Compliance

- Support payroll operations across six countries (Australia, USA, France, UK, Ireland, India), working with external payroll vendors to keep pay accurate, on time and compliant.
- Review payroll reports and reconcile payroll to the general ledger each month.
- Prepare and lodge monthly and annual payroll tax reconciliations including Australian payroll tax, STP and Payday Super requirements. Full training is provided on our payroll processes.

Tax, Audit & Governance

- Work with external advisers to ensure adherence to local compliance and regulations including the filing of financial statements and tax returns for subsidiaries within the global Group..
- Support internal and external audits and continuously strengthening our controls and governance framework.
- Develop, implement and maintain financial policies and procedures that improve controls and streamline processes.

- Identify opportunities to use automation and AI tools to streamline finance processes.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:

Essential

- CA or CPA qualified, or well progressed towards qualification, with 3+ years’ experience in accounting or finance.
- Experience as a Senior Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar, with hands-on month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Hands-on Xero experience, ideally across multiple entities and currencies.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to analyse data and make sound decisions.
- Clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work with colleagues and advisers across cultures and time zones.
- Strong ownership: you work autonomously, meet tight deadlines and raise issues early.
- Full right to work in Australia.

Preferred

- Payroll experience, ideally across more than one country or with external payroll providers.
- Experience with Mayday.
- Experience in a SaaS or technology company.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- A mindset to embrace AI and automation, using new tools to work smarter and improve finance processes.
