Service Technician | Full-time | $85,000–$100,000 + Super

Ready to take your technical skills into the field? Are you a hands-on Service Technician who enjoys troubleshooting, working with technology and solving problems in the field? Do you have a background in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, mechanical maintenance or a similar technical discipline?

Acusensus is looking for a capable and self-motivated Service Technician to support the installation, maintenance and ongoing performance of its creative road safety technology across Australia.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining technical troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, manufacturing, installation and field support. You'll work with advanced camera, radar, electrical and communications systems, helping ensure critical road safety technology operates safely and reliably.

If you're looking for a role where no two days are the same, you can work independently while remaining part of a collaborative technical team, and your work contributes to safer roads, this could be the opportunity for you.

About Acusensus Acusensus is an Australian technology success story with a global presence across Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

Founded in 2018, the company develops world-leading imaging and artificial intelligence technology designed to reduce road fatalities and injuries caused by distracted driving.

With a purpose of saving lives and making communities safer, Acusensus combines innovative technology with practical field operations to tackle important road safety challenges.

About the role Reporting to the Service Technician Lead, you'll play an important role in maintaining the operational readiness, reliability and performance of Acusensus equipment across your allocated region.

You'll work across the full equipment lifecycle, from initial assembly and commissioning through to field installation, preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and ongoing technical support.

You'll initially spend time working alongside the manufacturing team at the Ingleburn facility to build your understanding of Acusensus equipment, systems and operating procedures before progressing into regional field operations.

Once established in the role, you'll work largely independently, travelling to roadside locations and operational sites to maintain equipment, resolve technical issues and support the teams using Acusensus technology.

This position suits someone with robust technical fundamentals, sound problem-solving skills and the confidence to manage their workload with minimal supervision.

What you'll be doing

- Maintain and service equipment: Carry out preventative maintenance, inspections and repairs across mobile speed camera vehicles, trailers, fixed sites and associated hardware.
- Troubleshoot technical issues: Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical,

hardware and software faults to minimise downtime and maintain system performance.
- Install and commission systems: Support the installation, setup and testing of cameras, radar, cabling, power systems and communications equipment.
- Support manufacturing: Work alongside the Ingleburn team to assemble, build and commission equipment, ensuring quality and accuracy before deployment.
- Keep equipment field-ready: Conduct routine inspections, identify potential issues and ensure equipment is secure, reliable and ready for operational use.
- Provide technical field support: Work with operational teams to resolve equipment issues, respond to technical queries and restore system functionality.
- Maintain accurate records: Complete service reports, maintenance logs, fault documentation, inventory records and support tickets.
- Collaborate with technical teams: Work with the Helpdesk, Engineering, Manufacturing and operational teams to resolve complex issues and improve equipment reliability.
- Support new installations: Coordinate with site representatives and contractors to assist with fixed-site installations, commissioning and system upgrades.
- Promote safety and quality: Follow established work procedures, conduct risk assessments and maintain high standards of workplace safety and workmanship.
- Contribute to improvement: Share field feedback and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, serviceability and maintenance processes.

About you You'll be a practical, technically minded person who enjoys getting hands-on with equipment, investigating faults and finding solutions. You can work independently in the field, communicate effectively with different stakeholders and take ownership of the quality and safety of your work.

Ideally, you'll bring:

- A trade qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Electrotechnology, Mechatronics or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
- At least three years' experience in field service, maintenance, technical trades or a similar hands-on technical environment.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to interpret technical documentation, wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Experience working with electrical, electronic or electromechanical equipment.
- An understanding of 12V/24V DC electrical systems, particularly in vehicles or mobile equipment, will be highly regarded.
- Confidence using technology, diagnostic tools and computer-based service management systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.

- A solid understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- The ability to plan and organise your work, manage competing priorities and operate with minimal supervision.
- A collaborative approach, with a willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues across different teams.

Experience with IP-based camera systems, networking, embedded hardware, manufacturing assembly or quality assurance will be advantageous.

A First Aid certificate, White Card and Working at Heights certification are desirable, or you'll be willing to obtain the relevant qualifications. Elevated Work Platform (EWP) certification will also be highly regarded.
